Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice! On the tails of New York Fashion Week and ahead of Halloween, Vogue and the Hadid family have come together to showcase the best of New York’s spring 2019 collections in a campy “Beetlejuice” inspired video. The Bardia Zeinali-directed short film riffs on the family dinner scene in the 1988 classic, starring Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder.
It’s everything you would expect from a family of models at a dinner table: Anwar checking himself out, snippets between Gigi and Bella about stolen Rodarte earrings, Yolanda singing Harry Belafonte’s “Banana Boat Song (Day-O).” Unexpectedly, we see some of the Hadid’s acting chops. But the real scene stealers here are the 80’s silhouettes, like Gigi’s sequined Marc Jacobs bloomers and Bella’s voluminous ruffled ensemble.
