Kanye West Was the Creative Director For the 2018 Pornhub Awards

Kanye West and Pornhub are somewhat unlikely collaborators, but considering both West and the porn tube site aren’t afraid to get taboo perhaps there’s more of a connection than we thought.

West curated and executed the creative vision for the first-ever Pornhub Awards held on Thursday at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. The awards honor the top performers in adult entertainment, and West teamed up with longtime collaborator Willo Perron to design every detail, from the custom statuettes to the presenters’ clothing.

“Accessing his creative acumen in the worlds of design, production, music, photography, and apparel, West aims to present the award show with a unique approach and in a new light, minimizing the divide between the public and the private,” a press release for the event stated.

The show, the release describes, blended “future with fantasy” and was set in the year 6918. The future seems to be a big theme in Pornhub world, with a recent art exhibition called Pornhub Nation that imagined a fictional world where porn rules all.

At the ceremony, West also debuted a new song with Lil Pump called “I Love It” and a Spike Jonze-directed video. Teyana Taylor opened the show with a performance of “WTP” following with West joining her for “Hurry”. West’s label YEEZY provided the wardrobe for the presenters and the rapper’s creative content company DONDA designed the merchandise.

West even dropped a surprise Yeezy x Pornhub capsule, with five sweatshirts paying tribute to the night’s winners Riley Reid, Abella Danger, Mia Malkova, Lena Paul and Kendra Sunderland. You can cop one of the sweatshirts for only 24 hours on YeezySupply.com.
