Kate Spade’s New Book Highlights Visionary Women

The new coffee-table book features everyone from Miss Piggy to Carrie Bradshaw

Kate Spade, queen of Park Avenue polka dots, is coming out with a new coffee-table book about female visionaries, which seems a bit off-brand for Kate Spade but also kind of cool?

SHE: Muses, Visionaries and Madcap Heroines is a book filled with pop culture icons, fashion designers, and artist visionaries, all contained in a sleek, black cover with rose-gold font. According to WWDShe comes out October 10 (early holiday shopping, anyone?) and incorporates a mix of photographs, quotes and mini-profiles of famous females, both fictional and real.

There is a visionary for everyone, from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to Dolly Parton, Georgie O’Keefe to Gloria Steinem. Younger names like Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine and Slutever’s Karley Sciortino are also included and that, along with the Instagram-friendly pink touches, make it a book both millennials and their moms can enjoy.

Each statement, The Cut writes, is titled with a Kate Spade signature “she” statement in the style of purposeful slogans you might see on the brand’s accessories, including: “She prefers rock boats to safe bets” and “She opens doors and hearts.” It also looks to be part of a series, judging by the “to be continued…” on the final page.

Any book that describes Miss Piggy as “an icon of fashion, feminism and diva-dom” is a book we’re here for.
