Kylie Jenner Removed Her Lip Fillers — What Does That Mean?

Someone on Instagram mused yesterday that Kylie Jenner “looks like the old Kylie here idk why” and, well, that person was right. Jenner responded that she had gotten rid of all her lip filler, and her fans were very much in support.

The beauty mogul has apparently decided to kick it old school and go back to her original pout, and her new, natural look was debuted when she posted a photo with her friend Anastasia Karanikolaou. In the post she commented simply, “I got rid of all my filler.”

Her decision to ditch her fuller lips came just after she talked about her daughter Stormi in a YouTube Q&A with her BFF Jordyn Woods. “Stormi reminds me, she’s my twin. Now she’s like, looking a lot more like her dad,” Kylie said. “The one thing I was insecure about, she has—she has the most perfect lips in the whole entire world. She didn’t get those from me.”

So how do you remove lip fillers? A little research reveals that lip fillers of the hyaluronic acid variety (the most common type) can be completely dissolved in the event of a botched lip injection or, in Kylie’s case, when someone simply doesn’t want lip fillers anymore.

The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery site says:

Hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvéderm products (including VOLUMA and VOLBELLA), Restylane products, and Belotero, can be partially or completely removed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. When injected into the affected areas, hyaluronidase dissolves the hyaluronic acid particles to help correct issues such as overfilling or dissatisfying results…

So there you have it. If Kylie Jenner inspired you to return to your natural lip state, no draining of the lips is required!
