The audacious, eclectic, and eccentric founder of the online sensation Man Repeller, Leandra Medine, has blessed us with the launch of her re-branded shoe line. Medine launched her first shoe party in 2016, then-branded MR by Man Repeller. Now, the self-proclaimed “buffet dresser” has expanded her footwear range under a new, but familiar, moniker: her name.
Medine chose a slightly different, more elevated, design approach as she departs from her exclusive partnership with Net-a-Porter. “I realized if I was going to produce Man Repeller–branded products, they really had to espouse the same virtues of the site, which is fashion for everyone,” she told Vogue in August about her shuttered MR shoe line. “The price point [of the shoes] is a little prohibitive for that,” she continued, explaining the higher price point of her new, eponymous line.
The carefully curated 10-piece collection is now available at other retailers like Barney’s and The Webster, with whom she created an exclusive style and also launched the collection with during New York Fashion Week. The event was complete with a cocktail party that included passed canapés, rooftop views, and well-heeled guests. Having been there in person, I can say that the alluring array of shoes did not disappoint.
Some of the highlights from the collection include grosgrain-ruffled mules, fringed velvet pumps, paisley print loafers, pink kitten-heel boots (with a statement flower for good measure), shiny clog mules made from patent leather, and enough crystal-trim to blind the fashion crowd during this season. Don’t take my word for it, though, shop the full collection down below.
