For V Magazine’s Winter 2018 issue, Depp and Anderson posed together for a playful, retro shoot, Depp wearing a pink feather boa and Anderson wearing a hot-pink-and-black top. The Baywatch star was very complimentary of the young model.
“Lily is a beautiful spirit,” Anderson told V. “I feel a sweet bond, as if Anaïs Nin and I had a little sister, and maybe the same parents. Lily is very aware of her uniqueness and beauty. [She is] innocent but aware.”
Depp’s interview with actress Kristen Stewart touched on friendship, Charles Bukowski, and, of course, Twilight. “Don’t think that I didn’t watch Twilight when I was younger, too! I was a huge fan,” Depp tells Stewart. “You’re not gonna escape it.”
Depp, the child of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, has starred in numerous Chanel campaigns, including ads for Chanel No. 5.
“I did my first campaign for [Chanel] when I was 15, which was crazy,” she said. “I remember when they told me, I thought I was dreaming. For a 15-year-old girl to be told that, I was just so excited and just couldn’t believe that they wanted me.”
But the young star is also embracing her transition into the acting world, from her role in A Faithful Man to Netflix’s The King, where she plays a French princess alongside Chalamet.
“I am really shy when it comes down to it, which is why I love acting so much,” she tells Stewart. “It allows me to get out of my own head. I have a way easier time acting like someone else than acting like myself.”
