RBG meets MNZ… Her influence! pic.twitter.com/boCpLCT6IB

Anyone familiar with the Maryam Nassir Zadeh vibe knows that artful color fuels her collections. It’s color in that way that NYC gals tend to do color—covert bursts paired with utilitarian pieces like a hot-pink dress worn over a black bodysuit. Zebra prints make an appearance in knee-high boots and totes and a springtime-ready short-sleeved dress.
It was very fun to see a judicial look alongside a rainbow bodysuit and lace-trimmed puffer with electric lime green and neon pink. Similar to Rodarte‘s show in Los Angeles, silhouettes were exaggerated with boxy suits, puffed-up sleeves, and wide belts, with both collections doing gently modern updates of ’80s touches. A particular favorite was the neutral leathers used in the shearling bomber jackets or *chef’s kiss* the chocolate brown leather jumpsuit.
It was a show for all moods, and I’ll bet RBG would appreciate the shout-out.
