There’s a true Coney Island freak show cast of characters hiding in Moondog’s (played by Matthew McConaughey) weed smoke including Snoop Dogg playing a character named Lingerie, Zac Efron as a diabolical rehab patient, Martin Lawrence as a sailboat captain who loves dolphins, Jonah Hill as a Cajun convenience store clerk, Snoop Dogg and even Jimmy freakin’ Buffett.
The Slash Report describes it as a “candy-colored explosion fused together by a crackling jukebox soundtrack featuring the likes of Jimmy Buffett (who also appears in the film as a friend to Snoop Dogg’s character) and The Cure.”
“McConaughey was born to play this role of a slurring, beer-guzzling, free-spirited poet.”
The film is scheduled to be released by Neon on March 22, 2019.
