MTV Is Bringing Back A Reboot of ‘The Hills’

The rest, it looks like, will be written. (Sorry, we had to!) During Monday’s MTV Video Music Awards, it was announced that The Hills will be returning to MTV in 2019. The new show will be named The Hills: New Beginnings, and some of the original cast will be returning.

Crystal guru and social media celeb Spencer Pratt will be returning, as will Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge, Justin Bobby, and Frankie Delgado were all on-hand at the VMAs to make the announcement. Some of the show’s original cast members, including Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, and Kristin Cavallari, were absent, and it’s unclear whether they’ll be rejoining the show.

The Hills was a spinoff of Laguna Beach that aired from 2006 to 2010. Lauren Conrad was the original focus of the show, and when she left the series to pursue other career opportunities, she was replaced by fellow Laguna Beach alum Kristin Cavallari.

Conrad and Port gave birth to their first children last year, and Pratt and Montag had their first son in October 2017. Cavallari has her own E! Reality show Very Cavallari.

Watch the 30-second teaser below to feel a rush of SoCal nostalgia. “It’s like we’re all growing up. It’s weird,” Stephanie Pratt says.
