In the photo, a shirtless Glover poses with Rihanna in a colorful, striped dress, who’s playfully putting up bunny ears behind the Atlanta actor’s head. Rumors have circulated that the two are in Cuba filming a Hiro Murai movie together in Havana. Murai also directed Glover’s critically acclaimed “This Is America” video and has directed episodes of Atlanta. The title of the project is speculated to be Guava Island, according to Cuban music magazine Vistar.
The film project would be coming on the tail of RiRi’s Oceans 8 cameo. Nonso Anozie of Game of Thrones and Black Panther’s Letitia Wright have also been spotted on set in Cuba. Earlier this week, Rihanna announced that Glover will be performing as Childish Gambino at her Diamond Ball this year on Sept. 13. The money raised will go towards the Clara Lionel Foundation, an organization created by the singer to support health, culture, and education around the world.
Murai’s star has been rising, with talk in June that he would be making his directorial feature debut with Man Alive, a sci-fi thriller about the fall-out from an alien invasion. We can’t wait to see what roles Rihanna and Glover will play in the director’s new project.
