Rodarte is Returning to New York Fashion Week in September

Just when everyone thought New York Fashion Week was dead, Rodarte is making a comeback to resuscitate the style spectacle. Rodarte was one of the first big New York brands to break away from the old NYFW schedule.

The brand’s sisters-cum-designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy are currently based in LA, and have been showing their collections at Paris Fashion Week for the past three seasons instead. However, last season, the sisters decided to show their Fall 2018 collection with a series of ethereal portraits featuring their ultimate muse Kirsten Dunst, along with Tessa Thompson, Grimes, Gia Coppola, and a bevy of other talents.

The fact that they’re returning to NYFW is a huge deal, considering the number of influential designers who have chosen to decamp to other major fashion weeks, including Proenza Schouler, Tommy Hilfiger, and more.

Rodarte broke the news on Instagram yesterday.

“We are excited to announce we will be showing our SS19 collection during NYC Fashion Week! We are thrilled to create the show with our amazing team: Brian Phillips and Black Frame, Alex de Betak and Bureau Betak, IMG and our beauty and hair teams: James Kaliardos using NARS Cosmetics, Odile Gilbert for TRESemmé hair and @mtmorgantaylor for nails. Thank you again to @narsissist, @tresemme and @mtmorgantaylor for the support! Love, @kateandlauramulleavy.”

Just in time to stock up on the good stuff.
