Serena Williams and Virgil Abloh Are Collaborating With Nike

After Off-White teased a collaboration with Virgil Abloh and Nike over the weekend, Nike officially confirmed the partnership on Monday. In what’s truly a trifecta of greatness, Abloh and Nike will collaborate with Serena Williams.

Dubbed the “Queen Collection” for the all-star tennis athlete, Williams will debut the looks during the U.S. Open’s 50th Edition tournament in New York at the end of the month. As Fashionista pointed out, this is just one of a series of major fashion collaborations within the tennis world. Palace released a collection with Adidas and Roger Federer became Uniqlo’s global brand ambassador.

The Queen collection will range in price from $130 to $900 and features both day and nighttime-appropriate pieces. There’s a black-and-white dress, a glittery pair of NikeCourt Flare 2 sneakers, ombré-tulle tennis dresses, and Abloh’s signature quotation graphic reading Logo. During the U.S. Open, Serena Williams will play in a pair of customized NikeCourt Flare sneakers.

“What I love about tennis is the gracefulness. It’s an aggressive and powerful game, but it takes touch and finesse,” said Abloh in an official statement. “So the dress is feminine, but combines her aggression. It’s partially revealing. It’s asymmetrical. It has a sort of ballerina-esque silhouette to symbolize her grace. It’s not about bells and whistles and tricks. It’s just about it living on the body, and expressing Serena’s spirit with each swing of the racket.”

A limited-edition version of the dress that Williams will wear, a jacket, and two Nike The Ten sneaker looks inspired by the tennis player will be available at select Nike locations starting late August.
