There’s so much to look forward to with warm weather. But style-wise, one of the first things I’m excited about is getting more fun bags into my everyday wardrobe rotation. It’s basically impossible to be excited about wearing a Loewe gingham puzzle bag or anything else in the dead of winter because all I can seem to focus on is wearing layers of sweaters and denim to hibernate in.
So what bags do you need to make the most out of your summer wardrobe? Scroll ahead to see the 7 bags I’m buying for summer and why.
The Woven One
This bag screams summer, is super light and is a great piece to wear both to work and on the weekends.
The Shopper Tote
Shopper totes are super trendy right now, but I’m loving this classic take from Kara for the days when I need to lug around a bit more to work but don’t want a full on heavy tote bag.
The I-Need-a-Vacation Bag
Raffia totes are always the perfect bag for the beach and long holidays. The fringe detail and yellow resin top handle adds a chic touch without overdoing it.
The Fanny Pack
We’ve already given you ideas on how to pull off fanny packs, but just in case you haven’t found one yet, I’m loving this cherry red belt version from Wandler. It has two compartments so it can fit your wallet, cash and a lipgloss or two.
The It-Girl Clutch
If you haven’t seen these Cult Gaia bags you’ve been living under a rock. But the Japanese-inspired picnic basket bags are everywhere and I’m pretty sure they will be for a while. This one is made from multicolored marbled acrylic, so it looks less basic than the bamboo ones everyone already has.
The Hassle-Free Crossbody
Always an essential, the crossbody bag is especially necessary in the summer. It’s perfect for those warm days when you need to pack sunscreen and water but don’t want to feel like you’re carrying around a weekend bag. This little Chloé bag is just that right size—like a miniature carryall.
The Gotta-Have-It Bag
This Balenciaga bag in Barbie pink is magnetic. I don’t even love the color pink but it’s calling my name. This modern shoulder bag silhouette that’s sure to be the highlight of everything I wear this summer.
