“I am just waiting for the official official official beyond the point of no return release date before I officially announce my single(s) due timing for others involved & the process of the release or whatever,” she wrote on Instagram yesterday. “All I can say is that it is FINALLY happening.”
She explained that the wait has been largely due to her desire for her music to be exactly what she wants before putting it out into the world. “I would just like to clarify for some: my silence should not be confused for negligence,” Sky wrote. “I deeply care & put everything I have into my music. Including all of my earnings. I won’t put out something that I don’t stand by or the bare minimum.”
Ferreira hinted at difficulties with her record label in an Instagram post from 2017. “I was genuinely stuck at the mercy of other people before (for almost years at this point),” she wrote. “No matter how hard I tried,it was beyond me.I couldn’t say anything because of the possibility that it would make things worse… I didn’t wait this long to put out something that meets the bare minimum for some.GOD BLESS a majority of those people are now out of my way & those problems are being fixed.”
The singer hasn’t completely disappeared these past few years, choosing to focus on acting with roles in the Twin Peaks revival and an upcoming part in Norwegian black metal movie, Lords of Chaos. In the meantime, you can revisit Night Time, My Time and that truly iconic album cover.
