Amsterdam sweetheart Stephanie Broek dresses the way we all wish we had the guts to, mixing puffy maxi dresses with sneakers, and going all in on bright colors and in-your-face prints. The fashion writer and consultant, formerly an editor at Glamour Netherlands, uses clothes to express herself—as a vegan, she’s a proponent of sustainable fashion and is anti-fur. Below, we chat with Broek about her favorite shops, both local and international, and how her outfits reflect exactly who she is.
Where do you live?
SB: “Amsterdam!”
Where are your favorite places to shop?
SB: “The Broken Arm in Paris, Voo store in Berlin, Maryam Nassir Zadeh in New York, and online at Vestiaire Collective.”
What brands are you loving right now?
SB: “Marine Serre, Jacquemus, Ganni, and Stella McCartney.”
What are your go-to outfit essentials?
SB: “An oversized blazer, turtleneck, leggings, and kitten heels or western boots if it’s too cold.”
Tell us your style philosophy.
SB: “The way I dress is a reflection of my mood and says a lot about my personality. I am optimistic and cheerful, but a little shy sometimes. Hence the colors, but also the way I hide behind big glasses, long hair, and oversized silhouettes.”
