Where did 2018 go? Is anyone else still in denial that it’s December and cold AF outside? I feel as if it were just May, flowers budding, and the first hint of summer simmering on the horizon. I don’t wish for this year to be any longer, but it would be nice to pump the brakes every once in a while. For me, that break is coming in the form of a week in warm, sunny LA—both my hometown and my winter escape for the past nine years. I plan on at least seven days of sun-filled vacation and will be packing accordingly—cue light-wash vintage denim, cotton crop tops, and breezy dresses. While I’m off to LA, our international team of editors and COOLS crew will be heading off to all corners of the world. I sat down with a few of our favorites to see what they’re packing for a winter escape.

What she’s packing: My search for the perfect biker short is over — these are buttery-soft, vintage-inspired perfection. Since I plan on escaping the cold as much as possible this year, I’m all about some fresh suits for hangin’ by the beach in my home state of Florida. Peony – this top and this bottom – is just as cute as it is sustainable. And to round out my warm-weather vacation wardrobe, these eco-friendly and water-friendly shoes by Sun Fun won’t be leaving my feet.

Where she’s going: Pradollano in Sierra Nevada, Spain
What she’s packing: Wardrobe-wise, I’m a classics girl at heart so I love simple lines, sophisticated and technical materials, and neutral tones. Moncler remains my go-to for the ski season. I love that this one is so quintessentially Moncler, but is cut like a biker, which gives it more of a trend-led feel. Off the pistes, I love a super luxurious knit, like this Loro Piana cape (exclusive to 24 Sèvres), this wrap cardigan by Alanui, or this beautifully made turtleneck by Korean brand Boon the Shop. They’re perfect neutrals that I can wear dressed down on vacation and with more tailored pieces in the office. An Acne scarf in several colors is a must-have – they’re extra-large and super cozy. I love the newer logomania-friendly styles too. For footwear, I opt for casual, comfortable options throughout, and these Moncler velvet boots perfectly fit the bill.

Where she’s going: somewhere cold
What she’s packing: I’ve been traveling to colder climates lately which is new [for me]. The staple outfit I bring with me everywhere I go this winter is my red Aiello Brand sweatsuit, I love pairing it with a black trench coat, beanie, and some Vans. As far as tropical getaways I always pack my “Sky” set in black, it’s super flattering and lifts you in all the right places. If I could own the “Sky” set in every single color, I would.

Where she’s going: Somewhere cozy
What she’s packing: I feel like a lot of people I know are going on couples trips this January – so in my mind, these are the best pieces to make it through a cozy weekend with a new (or old) partner. You can wear these leather pants so many ways that they are the ultimate vacation piece. They are simple and comfortable but elevated so you can feel put together even with a hoodie on. I’ve worn these with heels and sneakers and feel equally as good either way. The Fabrizia dress is my favorite. So simple and easy and really perfect for an evening into night out. Add some boots, a sweater and a coat for a little walk and cocktails and when you remove them at dinner boom you’re a sexy goddess, but in an accidental way. These heels are perfect for when you’re on a trip with a lover you want to be sexy but without trying too hard. Also, they’re comfortable.

What she’s packing: For the slopes, a standout one-piece to stay warm and chic and so your friends won’t ever lose sight of you. Our luxurious interwoven satin Maureen flats in winter-white to take you from chalet to spa. My favorite headphones which happen to be cat ear-shaped (for added fun) for the in-flight entertainment. And vitamin C skin cream from SkinCeuticals and mineral sunscreen.
