Tommy Hilfiger Is Collaborating With Zendaya for a New Collection

Tommy Hilfiger announced on Tuesday that Zendaya will be the label’s new women’s ambassador, taking the place of his two-year-long collaboration with Gigi Hadid.

In February, Tommy Hilfiger and Hadid ended their partnership that resulted in four over-the-top fashion week parties, from turning a Malibu beach into a music festival to creating a carnival extravaganza on a New York City pier. Hilfiger also recently tapped Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton as a brand ambassador.

Zendaya will not only serve as the global women’s brand ambassador, but she’ll also star in Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring 2019 campaign. Similar to Hadid’s see-now-buy-now runway show, she will also release an instant-buy collection during a runway show in February.

“I love to collaborate with people who are passionate about making their dreams a reality and who inspire the next generation to do the same,” said Tommy Hilfiger in a release. “Zendaya has become a global icon, using fashion to make bold statements while always staying true to herself. Our capsule collection will fuse her eclectic style with the Americana spirit of our brand.”

Zendaya, starring in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Far From Home, isn’t a newcomer to the fashion world. Two years ago, she started her own label, Daya by Zendaya.

“Fashion is more than just wearing cool clothes,” Zendaya said in a release. “It’s a way to celebrate self-expression and individuality, which is extremely empowering. This is why I am proud to partner with Tommy Hilfiger.”
