With summer just a few days away, it’s time to finally start planning for warmer weather—which means stylish swimsuits, straw hats, and sandals. Worried about toting extra outfits around? Here’s how to incorporate your beachwear into your outfit, so you can enjoy the sun, sand, and spritzer without looking like a pack mule.
Treat your one-piece as a bodysuit.
“If you aren’t hitting the beach or sitting poolside this summer you can still get use out of your favorite one-piece swimsuit, celebrity stylist Soneca Guadara tells COOLS.com. “Treat your one-piece as a bodysuit. Pair it with a pair of trousers, shorts, or a skirt for an effortless and summer-appropriate look. I love pairing a one-piece with a long chiffon maxi skirt and showing off some leg.”
“Your bikini doesn’t have to sit in a drawer if you aren’t traveling! Pair the bikini top with a cute high-waisted pair of shorts, skirt or maxi skirt,” Guadara continues. “I love layering a fun, printed bikini top under a breezy linen button down so the colors peek through. If your bikini top is supportive enough, utilize it as a sports bra when doing yoga or Pilates. Anything goes in the summer as it’s all about effortless and boho vibes.”
Embrace luxurious fabric.
“If you’re either wearing a bikini or a full-body swimsuit the easiest way to transform it into an outfit is to pair it up with some satin silk pants or a flouncy silk crepe skirt,” founder of 90sFashion.com, Joe Flanagan tells COOLS.com.
“Another great take is to throw something see-through on top, like a crochet crop top, a gauze shirt, or an open jacket,” Flanagan continues. “It’s all about the fabrics and the accessories that you add to make it party time!”
Don’t forget to accessorize.
“Since you are scarce up top, jewelry is a must.”, runway stylist, Adjani Jensen tells COOLS.com. “Possibly a solid gold choker or double-strand Y necklace.”
