Virgil Abloh Just Dropped an EP with Berlin-based Boys Noize

Following the January release of their underground techno-house bop “ORVNGE Virgil Abloh and Berlin-based artist Alexander Ridha (who goes by the stage moniker Boys Noize) have just launched an exclusive 12″ vinyl EP, which also happens to be titled ORVNGE.

Ridha and Abloh’s record project contains three different songs: “ORVNGE” (of course), “??” (how cryptic), and “Sirene” (Mermaid reference?). The musical scores were all produced in the Boys Noize Berlin studio, and are exactly the types of songs one would expect to hear at Berlin’s famous club Berghain where Ridha has DJed in the past.

Virgil Abloh has been the master collaborator in fashion for quite a few seasons now. The newly-installed creative director of Louis Vuitton has teamed up with some of the biggest fashion and lifestyle brands during his tenure as a designer, including Nike, IKEA, and Jimmy Choo.

His influence can be seen in the music world as well. He’s worked with high-profile artists like Jay-Z and Daft Punk. He was famously once the creative director of Donda, Kanye West’s creative agency. Abloh’s status as a fixture in music has long been established, but his recent project with Boys Noize has now landed him an official artist page on Spotify as of January.

“DJing is the new golf,” Abloh proclaimed in a 2016 interview with Boiler Room. If his foreshadowing interview was any indication, we may soon be hearing a lot more about Abloh’s DJ ventures, which is music to our ears.

Is there anything this wunderkind can’t do?

ORVNGE, which you can stream now on Spotify, is available in vinyl record shops, online, and at Off-White stores. If you haven’t already listened to the single “ORVNGE,” then check it out below.
