Working-from-home has become the “new normal” for many, but what happens when those who used to work in an office are asked to return to their 9-to-5? (Will “fancy sweatpants” cut it?)
The Coronavirus pandemic has caused quite a stir in the officewear industry. Tailored Brands (i.e. the owner of Men’s Warehouse, Jos. A. Bank, and Lord & Taylor) in addition to J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, and Neiman Marcus (among others) recently filed for bankruptcy. Sure, you could argue that these companies had issues before the virus hit, but now that we’re on a loungewear kick, “casual Friday” could become a five-day event — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
If you’re anxious about returning to work (who isn’t?) and unsure whether or not sweats are now socially acceptable (after all, we have been dealing with apocalyptic events for the past six months), here are a few stylish outfits that are comfortable, affordable, and office-appropriate.
