Why Blazer Dresses Are Everywhere Right Now

I’ll be the first to admit that I thought blazer dresses were incredibly corny when I first saw them. A lot of the versions that I saw on street style stars were just too short, and seemed to be cheaper and tackier versions of Clueless and Pretty Woman looks. But now that better iterations have come out on the market, the blazer dresses are fancier, more fashion-forward and sexy yet still perfect for those days when you need to dress up but still look appropriate.

…Who wore it better?

My best tip for styling? Find boxier cuts that aren’t so tight—the tighter they are, they cheaper they look. I prefer ones that hit just a couple inches above the knee with big buttons and pockets like Blake Lively’s Sonia Rykiel one, Priyanka Chopra’s menswear inspired version with slits, and Bella Hadid’s mini dress with a thick belt for proportion. All you need with these is a pair of high heels, and you’re done!
