It was on Wednesday’s episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians that Kardashian debuted her newest scent ‘KKW Body’. On Instagram Stories, she opened up a grey box that contained a nude figure based off her own naked form. “So this is not the press box you guys, this is the regular box,” she continued. “I didn’t do press boxes because I wanted everyone to get this amazing box, I thought this was such a cool box within itself, that the bottle is like on a statue pedestal like a statue in a museum.”
On Monday, Kardashian posted an image of herself posing topless, her arm strategically placed across her chest, which served as an announcement for the fragrance. “KKW BODY 4.30 by Vanessa Beecroft” she captioned the post. Beecroft is a controversial artist whose work caught the eye of Kanye West. The two have collaborated on various projects for over a decade, but Kardashian and the artist haven’t always gotten along.
Beecroft partnered with West on a listening party in 2008 for 808s & Heartbreaks and again on his music video for “Only One”. Then, in 2014, the artist exhibited sculptures at Kanye and Kim’s wedding. In a 2016 New York magazine interview, Beecroft said she was demoted to contractor instead of full-time employee — and Kardashian was to blame. “She cut everything out,” Beecroft said.
Apparently, the two have gotten back in each other’s good graces, with Beecroft shooting nude photos for the KKW Body campaign. In an Instagram post, Kim Kardashian wrote, “We took a mold of my body and made it a perfume bottle. @kkwfragrance.”
