There is quite a story behind this ring. It was designed and made in East Gemany when gold was scarce. So Omi Poldi had it made from her gold tooth fillings. The stone was supplied by the jeweller in Stralsund on the Baltic coast. Omi Poldi wore it for many years and then gave it to her daughter, who gave it to hers. I am delighted to use this gorgeous and unusual design, made in .925 sterling silver and one micron of 18k gold vermeil. The stone is a blue topaz 14mm by 10mm, surrounded by a triple rim of gold wire, and held in place by three claws on either side of the stone. These double-drop stone earrings have a gorgeous combination of aquamarine and peridot rough cuts. These two colours go particuarly well together, especially as they often go with plenty of things in the wardrobe. Each stone is hand set in a 3mm band of .925 brushed silver. No, it's not a spelling mistake…it's a Mabe pearl! Pronounced mahbeh, in case you were wondering. And they are indeed rather marvellous! These pearls are grown against the inside shell of the oyster, so they have a flat back, with a unique and irregular front, unappetizingly called a blister pearl. They are a favourite for fine earrings and rings because of their beautiful sheen and interesting shape. These pearls hang from a tear drop shield of tiny, shiny cubic zirconia. The most classic of all our pearl studs. A beautiful tear drop shaped pearl sits below a tiny stud of cubic zirconia in 18k gilded .925 sterling silver. These days all gemstones are considered precious as all are rare and their supply is limited. Some gemstones are more desirable than others and pale blue stones in particular seem to be the most popular. When I first started dealing in semi precious stones many years ago, blue topaz was much more readily available at much cheaper prices than it is now. These days it has gone up in the world! A blue topaz is now one of the more precious of the semi precious range and they become increasily valuable with every passing year. This necklace is made of 43 round discs of incredibly beautifully and finely faceted blue topaz. The four 'C's, which stand for colour, clarity, cut and carat are a good indication of the quality of a stone. These stunning blue topaz tick each of those boxes. I love this ring as much as my daughter does! It's that kind of ring. I think it will appeal across generations and tastes. A fabulous 25mm wide band of textured silver, with a narrow oval of facted aqua chalcedony set at its centre. These little pink flower earrings are pretty as a picture! The stone is a pink chalcedony and it was specially cut in the shape of a flower, and the gold wire it sits on has been shaped to fit behind it. We first did these Tish rings in blue topaz, vasonite, and amethyst. They were incredibly popular so we ordered them again plus two new gemstones, London blue topaz and peridot. Peridot is this season's must have stone! And it's easy to see why, it's the most glorious bright spring green. This ring is pure class! A variety of flat faceted stones in glorious colours, sit alongside a variety of holes set into a wide but thin band of 18k brushed, gilded silver. When we designed this ring, we tried it with cubic zirconia first time around and it was just a bit too blingy! When we used white topaz instead, it transformed into a gloriously bedazzling ring. Nearly 100 small white topaz is set into a broad, curved band with raised edges, each one with a hole behind to catch maximum light. We called it the Night Of A Thousand Stars because it reminds us of exactly that, and because we think people will gaze at it and admire it on your finger! These rings are so unusual as they are literally full of holes! Initially, they were made in gold vermeil (available on our website at www. gembazaar. co. uk) and then we tried them in brushed matte .925 silver and eureka! We got a hole in one! A wide band of silver is set with several different sized gemstones, each one faceted at the edges and on the base, whilst being flat on top. This allows for maximum reflection and colour through the stones. All the stones are faceted chalcedony - a very pretty, semi opaque stone that comes in many shades - these being aqua, light blue, pink, green and dark blue. Baroque pearls are pearls with an irregular, non spherical shape. Cultured saltwater pearls tend to be more tear drop shaped, in the baroque style. These divine earrings are wonderful examples of that. Creamy, dreamy baroques with a hint of pink and grey in their lustre, largely tear drop shaped but with a great deal of character, each pearl unique in shape and size. When I first found these earrings I was beside myself with excitement! Green amethyst is more correctly known by the name Prasiolite, and it can occur naturally in the earth or be the result of heating purple amethyst.
